Healing Arcs: From Sacrifice to Self-Worth in Two Standout Summer Anime
Yo, yo, yo, you tuning in to another episode of Kids The Fat is life, the fat is living, the CD ambition ain't no one played driftin'.
SPEAKER_00:Look, we're not the same, it's not a killing, give it a driver through the city and then never live. Cause if you see it, then I want it then you better know I got it. You can never catch me in the first place. You can never This is your mommy with the wrong me, lemme running Feel the paint but I love me.
SPEAKER_01:Alrighty guys. Welcome back. It's uh it's been a little bit of a time pause here. Um had a couple changes in the personal life in Ken's world. You know, all good obviously. Um I just find it a little bit hard to uh get back and do something I truly truly enjoy, and that is talking about anime. Um and I'm not even gonna lie, I'm a little rusty. Uh I just got over from being sick as well. I had the little sniffles, but the main idea of it is it's gone. Well, remnants is still around. This mucus has been kicking my butt, but I had I had to record something and uh get some of these ideas out of my head. Uh, so let's just jump into it. In the anime world, there have been a couple new seasons that came out uh for the summer. Um, obviously, one of the biggest headliners has been bleach. Now, we all know, anybody who's a fan of bleach know it has been some dynamic four episodes. All right, uh it's been a lot to uh intake. The Quincies have just decided to not give two craps on what's going on in the soul society, and Ichigo is still up to his regular routine of hitting new heights and all that jazz, right? Well, surprisingly, as exciting as that is, we're not talking about bleach today. I'm gonna say that for another time. Um, what I would like to unravel has just been two uh two different types of animated, obviously the same, but on opposite spectrums, right? Same realm, but just on a different different sides of each other, but they're still looking at each other, obviously. Um one is the sacrificial princess and the king of beasts, right? And the other is a happy marriage. Now, I will I want to say this. I want to say this. If Netflix made a happy marriage, that's a damn good show. Alright? That's a damn good show. And the reason why I say it's a damn good show, because not only does it give you some of that action feel, right, of uh the revolutionary times, right? The industrial era. I will probably date it back to at least 1940s, right? Has that feel. Um I love the storytelling. I love the storytelling, and even put you in your feelings a little bit. Because he looked kittens is all about good storylines. I'm all about great storylines, but it has to make sense, all right. I I'll I'll you know and listen, I'm your typical guy. I love the blood and gore, man. I love that action, but a happy marriage is something that is heartwarming, and you could kind of relate to it depending on what type of life you grew up in, but you can respect the show because it carries some weight, you know, and you really feel the character's feelings. So I love the writing, great story, uh, amazing animation. I love what they did with it. Um, everything kind of pops out at you. Um, to dive in a little bit on the other one, the sacrificial princess and the king of beasts, gives you the same aspects, but with a hint of fantasy, obviously. Um, what it would be like to be a human on the beast side, but to be accepted, right? She's fighting for acceptance of a different race that obviously had some really bad history, and you know, deservingly so. You know, humans can be extremely mean when we want to be. I mean, just in our own human history, there's been a lot of violence, man. A lot of violence, a lot of killing, a lot of killing, a lot of uh fertile land with bodies. Alright, you get my drift. But hey, I like to pick the picture. But the reason why I want to talk about this, the reason why I want to talk about these two is I like the examples that they are trying to portray. I think it could really go good when in today's society for sure. Because I mean, if we really kick it off, we all like to be accepted. We all like to be accepted on the people that we want to be accepted for. Because listen, we wake up each day for a purpose, and regardless of whatever that purpose is, we still have to wake up and we still gotta go by our day. Now, these two ladies in each anime series had a really rough beginning, and they are tough as nails, they're relatively the same. One is fighting for the acceptance of a race while the other is just trying to get that confidence back, get that, get some of her um self-confidence, get some of that reassurance. But she feels that she is unworthy to get that in that confidence because she has been told all her life that she is worthless. I mean, how many people that can raise their hands is people that's told them they were going to fail and they're worthless and they're going to amount to nothing. Me, for sure. But we all need those haters. We all need those type of people to kind of give us some type of purpose in our lives. Hence getting up each day to prove that person wrong, to prove those people wrong, to prove those group of individuals that we hold in a different realm in our lives of where we can either go at or go around. Right? You know, food for thought, guys. Food for thought. Um, but I want to say speak on the uh a happy marriage series, um, from episode one. I'm so pissed off at that family because it's like, yo, how can you guys treat an individual? One, okay, let's just say this. So Pops basically had two marriages. The first the first wife, you know, I want to say she basically died of a broken heart. Um, she felt betrayed, you know, gave this guy a kid. And I don't want to give the whole princess of the of the story. Because I want you guys to really, if you haven't watched it for sure, it's a great watch. Even though it's still in the beginning, it's so much that's going on. Um, but you already feel that the story is is definitely gonna carry some weight. So um, but it's basically it's basically the wife tried her hardest to you know give the husband what he wanted, and he wasn't willing to wait. He wanted that uh exact time for some type of outcome. Like he couldn't wait to say, like, oh well, you know, we could just cast you guys out because you're basically good for nothing. So let me go find another wife that can give me something else, and he found that other wife, and that other wife is a capital B-I-T-C-H with the ch ch ch ch ch chch ch ch at the end. Um you later find that you know he had kids for both, and the first wife's child, I mean, it is I mean, she's she's tough as nails, man, in my opinion. She kept it going, but you can see that the self-confidence was definitely damaged for sure. Um, and there were other aspects to in her life as she was growing up that would have given her some type of vote of confidence. You know, some couple peoples here and there. Um, but the family wasn't having it. The family basically told that the first daughter, because he had a second daughter with the second wife, but the first daughter was is basically a dud, a castaway, you know, dishonored from the family name because of what that individual couldn't do. That sucks, man. I mean, that's a that's an unforgiving feeling. Um, but as the story progresses, you see she getting she gets a little bit stronger. Um, she she basically gets sold to a whole nother family, and that turned out to be such a blessing in disguise for her. And later, as the story progresses, you see that she changes of the result of you know the quote unquote buyout. I want to pull a shed a little bit of light on today's society on how accurate this show is. We seen people become castaways, black sheeps, uh, null and voids because of what they could and could or what they couldn't do, you know, based off of how they look or skill sets or you know, nationality and things like that. There are people in this lifetime all over the world that could relate to this young lady. That's why I feel like it's such a powerful message, it's a such a powerful show. And though there are other animes that's like that, but because it's so current, you know, I strongly suggest uh you put a little bit more uh energy towards it, you know. Definitely watch it, definitely put it in one of your cues to watch. If if this ain't your type of thing, I totally understand. It's not it's it's not for everybody, you know. But me being such an anime lover, I like all genres, man. You know, I I like to dive into it because there are some hidden gems in each genre, and so I'll try to you know give each one its sunshine, I would say. Um but for sure, so good, so good. Um the sacrificial princess and the king of beasts started out heavy. From episode one, it was heavy. The protagonist basically knew that she was a sacrificial pawn since she was at least three years old. How sad is that, man? I mean, she knew she was worthless just because of how people viewed her. She can even feel the atmosphere based on how people was even looking at her and treating her, and even what they were saying. Again, how many people had that skill at a very young age? They did. It's rays of sunshine that happens periodically in those types of people's lives because they can spot you know the general positivity of people, um, the realness, regardless of whether that person's saying to you or not. Um, it's it's a really eye-opener sometimes when you can say that person isn't real, that person's not even good for me, and you lived your life struggling with the fact can I ever trust anybody again? Is this something for is it something that I've done that prohibits a person to look at me in such disdain and say you're worthless, and you're so worthless, you're no better than the bugs we step on every day. Matter of fact, dirt has more value than you. Dang, it's cold-blooded. But as this protagonist goes throughout the story, she is sold to the beast world, basically, like the humans no longer needed her, she was a pawn, and she was given to the king of beasts of that realm, of the beast realm, the king of kings, and as she sat in front of this king, the king was already, you know, he had his problems, man. And as a king, you can never show weakness, right? So he's fighting with his own demons, but here comes this young lady ready to die that opened up the king's eyes to say, why such a human has this face? You shall do whatever you want with me and my body. It's cold, man. Open up the king's eyes for him to say, I welcome you into my kingdom. I mean, your life is mine anyway, so I shall do with it whatever I will. To the little girl, she really didn't care too much of it. The story progresses as to the girl learns more about the king, and relationships get woven together, and she becomes a significant piece to the beast realm. You have a true calling, we all have a true calling, but it's what we do with those decisions and how we understand the moments, and I do mean moments because sometimes we would never, you know, time progresses, man. Time is unrelenting, it has no respect to persons, so it's always gonna keep going, regardless of whoever you are. No matter how much money or how much status, how much land you have, man, time is gonna continue, bro. And it's gonna be like, hey, too bad, too sad. But it's it's in those moments that we really we realize that am I to progress or am I to give up? And and let's go a little bit deeper. I can't have respect for somebody who wants to commit suicide. And I know I went so dark with this one, but a person who commits suicide is somebody that's saying, I give up. We can't give up. That's not what life is about, brother, sister. You have a gift that nobody else has. Always remember that. There's only one of you in this world. Only one. And you took it upon yourself to say, I don't want to deal with this no more. Let's end it right now. What? What? That's crazy. That's crazy talk. So much beauty, so much happiness is in this world. And we use the little bit of ugly that we see to deter us from the beauty you haven't even seen what the world can offer. But but because of the world that you're living in, in the world that you have started out, or the people that surround you, you consider that to be the worldwide view of how life is. Man, life can be horrible. Life can be the most disrespecting thing that can ever happen to an individual. But how come there are people in this world who doesn't really know drama? It's not because of status, it's not because of money, though that does help, but it's because of the purpose's will to continue on to see that each day is a different day. That's why I love anime, man. Anime is so cool because not only does it open up your eyes to what a world could possibly be, but it gives you a hint of what you can do when you just push forward. That's life. Life is a marathon. You know when you first start out, anybody who's played sports, you know when you first get on the field, you get on track, you got all your energy, you got your wits about you, and you start, you start moving, and you start doing your activities, the day-to-day activities, second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour, and you are weakened as time progresses. And then what we do, we stop, we get our breather, we take a break, we look around, we socialize. In that socializing moment, we're happy because we're around like-minded individuals who's going through the same thing. But as we look around, even though we're all tired and beat up and sore, guess what? You have people that's around you that's gonna get right back on that field, get right back on that track, and gonna continue on because you do not get better by sitting still. Life doesn't get better by you just simply giving up. It's crazy, man. It's crazy, that's a crazy way to even think about life. Like, oh my god, I woke up and my parents is just so horrible. That's a that's a minute time in your life that's allowing the rest of your thoughts to be completely disrupted by a moment in time that will not last forever. Good and bad doesn't last forever. There has to be a season if we constantly have good things to happen in our lives, if we're constantly saying that I don't want nothing bad to happen, then you are a fool. Why are you a fool? Because how will you know the blessings? How will you know goodness? How will you know what it is to have rest without the bed? That's how we grow, guys. That's how life works. This ain't nothing religious, this is common sense. Oh well, Ken, you don't know nothing. You don't know nothing about my life. You're right, I don't. I'm not trying to because these person has their own demons. But I guarantee you this. Your situation is nothing better and nothing worse than the next one. We're all fighting, man. So how dare you hold your head low? How dare you look around you and say nobody understands me? Hey, I will say this. I am a living, breathing proof of saying nobody understands me. I have met individuals who are so much worse than me. And I'm extremely blessed to say that now I have the voice and the understanding to allow others to see and feel what I can give. And I use anime as a good example of a representation and how we're supposed to continue on so we all don't give up. To have the shinobi, the warrior spirit, the unction to never give up, to continue on, press on. But it's amazing. It's amazing how this story progresses. It's really beautiful. Um, I relish in the um the underdog stories. I think we all do. We like to see the underdog stories because we know what the end result is. Well, how come you can't look at the understory as yourself? Knowing that when you progress, that good will always happen, but bad will always happen too. When you have that mindset, then life becomes so much easier. And I mean that. Why wallow in pity, man? Why go through this world not experiencing life and always being in the in the higher spirits or in the lower spirits? You have to have an even cue, there has to be some type of balance. When you have too much of something, it's bad, man. Oh, it's terrible. Why is it terrible? Because now you're all killed. You get up and it's just like it's like having one big foot and one small foot. Yeah, you'll be able to stand up, but will you be able to walk correctly? Will you be able to put on the right pairs of shoes and the right pairs of pants? Cuz one foot can get through while the other one can't. You're off center. Some of these uh events that's happening in the world now have made people so uneasy from all the different wars and the the diseases that's happening to all these different outbreaks, man. We cannot live in the in the conscious realm of fear. We can't live in it. We can know of it, we can experience it, but we cannot live in it. Why, Ken? Well, now time has stopped for you or for whoever chose to stay in that fear, because now you put yourself in a box to never experience anything outside of that because everything that you're seeing right now is you being afraid, fearful of what could happen. That's a really, really dark way to live. That's how killers happen. That's how people who like to do harm to others because of their situation, they want other people to be just like them. Misery needs company. It's a really hard pill to swallow sometimes. Nobody wants to face facts. So we find one little small thing that makes us happy and we stick with that. We stick with that because it's comfortable. If you are in a comfortable situation, you are doomed. Ken, why are you talking like this? What's going on? Well, I'm talking like this because one, the anime kind of opened up my eyes to a couple things, just put something on my mind to kind of want to share, man. You know, I like I said in my first episode, you know, I want this podcast to not only be about anime now, but To uplift and give people some positive affirmations. And because I was gone for the last couple weeks, it's been on my mind. I've been itching to come back to talk to you guys. I miss you guys. Um a couple things that I I just you know I I've been seeing and a couple of my own friends and family, you know, going through some issues and the way they talk and the way they uh to do uh deduce things have been just crazy. And so I wanted to just take this little bit of time to let people know that it is better stuff out here, man. The world is meant to be what it is, but people choose to be who they are. Life is choices, life are moments, and as life it's it passes us by. A decade can come quick, but a moment only lasts for a few seconds. We don't have eternity to live on this earth, so why choose to be in misery where you can choose to be in happiness? But understand that within happiness, moments of stress and strife will happen, but that's the beauty of it. Because then you're reminded on where you stand and how blessed you really are, it's an amazing situation with what we call life, it's a cycle of goodness and bad. And if we were to live how the woman in the beginning of the happy marriage, or as the sacrificial princess, if we were to keep those mindsets in the beginning of the show, like how they started out, will humans even be alive? I mean, really think about that. We would be extinct because we would be constantly killing ourselves, truly, and then this would be a beast world. Probably would be better for the earth anyway. Crazy. Um, I just wanted to to tap in. Um, I'm gonna try I'ma try to make sure that I get back on track and not have long spurts. I just had to get a um a flow, my flow back. I was kind of thrown off a pivot. And like me, you know, something I enjoy to do, I couldn't do because I chose to put others in my situation above my happiness, and that in my world is stupid. Not a stupid person, I'm not no fool. I finally got out the realm of being afraid of allowing my voice to be heard, especially about stuff like anime, because you know, again, it is frowned upon to certain degrees in my side, you know, my family, my friends. I have a lot of friends that love anime, but you know, not everybody understands how and why I watch these shows because they just see all the dramatized and how sexual and it's not all for that, man. It's just the entertainment, you know. But what they put into some of these shows is is actually pretty good, you know. And uh, we could get if you could go look past all the extranes, obviously, it really has some really good deeper meanings, and people, again, who are true anime fans understand exactly what I'm talking about because you're not necessarily watching for the action, you're watching to see how that protagonist and the antagonist progresses through the story, the the moments that they share and and and the moments that we can all talk about and and relish and and you know uh agree with and understand that that could be us. So again, I appreciate you guys for the love and support. I'm gonna be way more active soon. Um, I will soon get a video. I will have my video um podcast soon. Um, I actually can do it now, but uh I really gotta find the right time to do this. Um because you know, I'm just a one army over here. Until I start can get until I can start getting a good feel on you know my messages and things like that, it will uh it will start progressing. You guys will definitely see a little bit more change, and I will be way uh way more uh interactive. Um, have uh remnants of where you guys can leave some comments and uh you know let me know your true thoughts, man. And give me some good feedbacks. Give me some good feedbacks uh to try to deepen this podcast and talk about different uh subjects that most people shy away from. I am not afraid to talk about whatever it is that you guys will love to hear. I have keen insight, I feel. Um, I hope you guys can can sense the you know the honesty and and the passion um of what I what I'm doing and what I what I'm liking to do. Um and it's just anime, obviously, but you know, boys and girls, we all share the same situation. So just you know, give me some of your experiences, give me some animes that you feel that you can relate to that it speaks to your life. Um but that would be in a later time when I start to get uh you know uh bigger because of you guys and the support that you guys will give speaking positive affirmations, that's what you gotta do. You gotta speak things into existence. But again, I appreciate you guys just wanted to vent a little bit. That was more of a vent. Um, but definitely check out a happy marriage, it's definitely on Netflix. Uh, obviously, you can stream it. Everybody has you know the online streaming. I ain't really trying to get locked up on here, but you know, we got our online streaming, um, and uh a sacrificial princess and a demon king, I mean in the king of beasts. Uh good to slice alive drama anime. So if you guys are really into the slice alive types and the real dramatized uh type of shows, that this will definitely be something that you want to put on your list. And uh don't let it pass by because these two are definitely good gems for sure. I think that's about it. Um definitely like and subscribe. I am on Spotify, I am on Apple Podcasts, uh you can check out my website at the Kings World uh slash buzz sprout. I'm gonna start putting some different types of content on my website soon. So definitely stay tuned with that. But I'll definitely keep you guys updated, and I will start making uh my Patreon website soon. Trying to dive into that a little bit so I can give back to you guys for sure and be well more uh interactive and in depth with the fans. So but it's your boy Ken the Wiz and I am signing out until next time, guys.
SPEAKER_00:Peace Ayy, please don't play no games with me. I promise I'm too much. Hey, I can never let up even if you had enough. Hey, this ain't for the faint of how we always play rough. I had enough for the
